Saturday at Hurricane Ridge

A big thank you to Michelle from Ten June for featuring my Drop Cloth Curtains on her Tuesdays at Ten June!  Please go check out her blog and the other awesome projects she featured!

So in recapping our Seattle adventures, the last pictures I shared were from our hiking around Lake Crescent on Saturday morning. After we finished our hike, we went back to the car and hit the road. We drove about 30 minutes back towards Seattle to the Olympic National Park. Once we got inside the park, we drove a few miles up to Hurricane Ridge. Our friends Roger and Kristy had told us how much they loved this area, so we were very excited. Kristy’s words were “It was better than Hawaii!” and I was anxious to see what could possibly be more awesome than Hawaii! 🙂

I’ll be honest – I’m from the mountains of NC and I was prepared to have fun and hike with Matt, but I was completely unprepared for the breathtaking views. I’m really glad that Matt was driving as we wound our way from the park gates up towards the ridge, because around every turn I was gasping and pointing – the views were INCREDIBLE.

All of the pictures above are from the visitor center. After we walked around that area, we decided to do a short hike (3-ish miles?). It was incredible! We had prayed for good weather, and we were so thankful that the clouds kept moving; the clouds swirled around the mountains and would literally move away before our eyes to reveal crisp snow-covered peaks. Oh yeah, and there was still snow on the ground. Yeah… it was June!

As we walked along we saw a lot of deer, but this one little guy was right on the path!

He did not seem to care that I was getting closer and closer so I just kept right on taking pictures! I was giggling like a little girl the rest of the hike – “Did you see how close I got!”

My awesome brother-in-law Tyler has his own trim carpentry business in Sarasota, FL; I was wearing my “R.T. Hamilton Enterprises” shirt on the hike so Matt snapped a picture of me wearing the shirt to share with them.

That’s the best of the pictures from Saturday! After we finished our hike, we grabbed a late lunch and headed to stay with friends in Port Orchard, WA. We had lots of fun with them – we went out to eat, saw the movie theater that they own, and stayed up way too late playing games and talking.

In recapping our adventures in Seattle, I’ve posted about Tuesday and WednesdayThursday, and Friday (here and here) and the first half of Saturday
