I’ll keep this post short on words and just show some pictures. Friday we had started our day in Seattle, taken the ferry across to Bainbridge Island and then made our way to Lake Crescent Lodge in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. The pictures below are from the “Moments in Time” trail – a flat trail about a mile or so long that snaked through the woods. The woods were amazing – the trees were HUGE and everything was much more mossy than the NC woods that I’m used to!
Quick interjection – Saturday morning we had breakfast at the restaurant in the Lodge and Matt ordered hot chocolate. After a few minutes, a man came out from the kitchen with this beautiful hot chocolate and looked surprised to see Matt and I sitting at the table. “Oh! I thought this was for a little kid. Sorry!” We laughed and looked around, realizing that there were at least two other tables of parents with coffee and kids with hot chocolate. I guess they were used to only kids ordering hot chocolate! Matt was not phased and he enjoyed every last drop of his decadent hot chocolate!
After we checked out of the lodge and loaded up the car, we enjoyed the view from the lodge again before heading out on another hike – this time to a beautiful waterfall!
Thanks for sticking with me through all the pictures! There’s just a few more days’ worth of pictures and I promise that there are more fun DIY/project posts coming! 🙂
