High Five for Friday

Happy Friday y’all! Has it been a good one? Here are some highlights from ours –

ONE. Matt and I had a date on Saturday to celebrate our one-year anniversary!ย We went to Chapel Hill and saw “Now You See Me” ย at the Varsity Theater; we hadn’t heard that much about it but we really enjoyed it! After that, we went to Brier Creek and ate at Brasa. It was delicious, but there was SO.MUCH.MEAT. Wow! It was yummy but neither of us are in a hurry to go back because it was just too much! When we finished eating we walked down to Barnes and Noble and wandered around for a while before we went home. What a fun date with my best friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Date Day!

TWO. Matt and I had indoor soccer games on Sunday and Wednesday night. I played with Matt in an outdoor co-ed summer league two years ago, but besides that my only experience playing soccer dates back to when I was 7. Yikes! I was really nervous but our team is superย nice and encouraging…and Matt said I played well! We tied both games and Wednesday night’s was especially exciting until Matt sprained his ankle. Poor guy! ๐Ÿ™ Please pray with me that he’s on his feet and back to normal soon.

THREE. We’ve been cooking more and trying some new recipes lately and it’s been so much fun! On Monday we made chicken pot pie (from a Paleo cookbook so it has an almond flour topping) and we were both wild about it! Yummy! Last night we had some great friends over to dinner and I tried out some sweet potato hashbrowns and homemade sausage to go with the pancakes that Matt made. We are both really enjoying all the good food we have around the house!

FOUR. My brother flew in from FL last night and I am SO excited that he’s here for the whole weekend! I’ve been missing him since he left Raleigh in January so I’m glad he comes back to visit! He’s hanging out with Trixie today while Matt and I have to work. We’re all looking forward to the fun weekend ahead!

FIVE. Speaking of the fun weekend ahead, our good friend Jeff is getting married tomorrow! YAY! Matt is his best friend so we’re going to the rehearsal dinner tonight and then tomorrow is the big day ๐Ÿ™‚ I think that being married is the bomb-diggity so I’m so excited for Jeff and Blair!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my post! Trying hard to get back into blogging since it’s fun! I’m so excited that you played indoor soccer! Is it at the Factory? I played for a while there on Sunday nights… got to be too late in the evening for me but I miss playing in general. Hope to hang out with you guys soon… miss you and love you friend!

I miss you! Let’s hang out soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re actually playing at NetSports in Cary – it’s nice because it’s only like 10-15 minutes away from us. It is hard when the games are late! Thankfully we haven’t had any late ones yet but we’ve got some games in October that start at almost 10 ๐Ÿ™
